Sandra Babb
Native Georgian Sandra Babb finds inspiration working outdoors. While painting
en plein air, she appreciates the lack of distraction and relishes the blessing of blue sky.

Sandra Babb challenges herself by getting out into the highways and hedges (literally)
and attempting to capture fleeting light. She has become obsessed with observing
and capturing on canvas the colors of light. Her work means more to her than mere
representation or personal expression; it is a form of worshipping the Creator
of that light.
Sandra Babb's versatility and skill may be witnessed in her prolific body of
work, which includes a series of portraits, architecture, sailboats, flowers,
and cows. Acknowledging the changes in Northwest Georgia landscapes and lifestyles
as farms are transformed into subdivisions, she focused on the cows of a local
dairy farmer who was preparing to sell his herd. The resulting paintings speak
with subtle eloquence.
Sandra Babb also loves to incorporate people into her paintings and takes commissions
for portraits. From children to sailboats to old barns--she paints all subjects
with beauty and accuracy. Her style incorporates an impressionist revelation of
light, a love of representational detail, and vision both whimsical and reverent.
