Ellen Winsor
Ellen Winsor
Ellen has been making art since childhood in south Florida (her first collected work
was “The Fizzy Kids”, an impressive work in fingerpaints, the collector being
her mom, of course) Both parents were artists and growing up in Coconut Grove
influenced her preference for lush color and open horizons.
Ellen received her BA in Art from Florida State University and developed a successful
freelance career in corporate communications for Fortune 500 companies. She has
also taught children’s art classes and is a founding member of the Alpha Arts
Guild in Alpharetta, Georgia.
She recently discovered the joys of painting en plein air and has been lucky
to spend time in Provence and on Jekyll Island. In France, she was inspired by
the wild horses and wheeling skies of the Camargue. The deep shifting shadows
and ancient trees caught her attention on Jekyll Island.
In addition to painting in acrylic and watercolor, Ellen enjoys sculpting the
human figure and horses and in clay, capturing movement and expression.
Ellen is available for commission works in both painting and sculpture, and may
be reached at 770.442.5033 or via email at ewinsor@bellsouth.net.
